African Caribbean Asian & Mixed Heritage Association (ACAMHA)

Climate Change Research Report (2024)

ACAMHA is a community organisation based in Inverness which aims to encourage, embrace, and celebrate the uniqueness of Equality, Diversity, Equity, Acceptance and Belonging in the Highlands.

In 2023, they were a recipient of a New Voices Grant, as part of the Highlands & Islands Climate Change Community Grants programme, funded by UK Research & Innovation and delivered by Science Ceilidh and the British Science Association.

This programme allowed them to work alongside researchers Mandy Haggith and Nadine Andrews to explore the thoughts, attitudes and engagement about climate change and the current climate crisis with Black, Indigenous and People of colour (BIPOC) in the Highlands of Scotland.

Following this community-led research project, the group published their findings in a short report which can be read below. This include recommendations for those wanting to work with Black, Indigenous and People of Colour around climate change in the Highlands and beyond.

You can find out more about the project here and read the report via the link below.
