Dissect the beat

The Dissect the Beat show tells the fascinating story of music. Mixing live traditional Scottish music with science, the show explores the underlying physics, neuroscience and psychology of music.

From reading brainwaves using an EEG live on stage to a “mass scale” audience piano and even an ”ear worm” infection (& cure!) experiment, neuroscientist Lewis Hou & musician Andy McLeod explore what it takes for music to get stuck in your head and make you want to dance.

We had a wonderful time visiting schools for Orkney Science Festival in 2015. We also competed in the world's first Science Show International Cup in Estonia in September 2015 too!
